A lobby group has threatened to marshal women across the country to boycott the elections if the government does not implement the one-third gender rule.

Board chairman Center for Multiparty Democracy Justin Muturi said the elections will be null and void since the constitution will be contravened.

The board also resolved that they will file a case at the East African court of Justice to force the government to observe gender rule equality.

They said parliament has not been keen on passing the amendments to the Bill. The group is also considering reporting the government to the secretariat of the East African community to suspend or expel Kenya from the community.
