Zimbabwe: PM Fights for Rule of Law

United States Ambassador to Zimbabwe Bruce Wharton has reaffirmed America's commitment to the rule of law and human rights in Zimbabwe.

Speaking to journalists after paying a courtesy call on Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai, Wharton said, "I came to reaffirm our commitment to human rights and rule of law and our faith on the people of Zimbabwe."

"We have had to discuss with leaders from all parties and I came here to do the same with the Prime Minister," Wharton said.

Prime Minister Tsvangirai has been held as a diplomat for championing human rights.

The Premier briefed Ambassador Wharton on the situation in Zimbabwe regarding reforms expected to prepare the country for free and fair elections.
