Egypt: Nation Bans Dealing With Some Libyan, Saudi Companies Over Labor Violations

Manpower Minister Khaled el-Azhari has decided to ban dealing with a number of Libyan and Saudi companies for violating the rights of their Egyptian workers.

The decision is effective as of the current month.

The three companies are "Al-Wadaq" company for construction and maintenance in Libya and Eyed and Nasser Al-Shammari's company for engineering consultancy services and Al-Buruj contracting Co. in Saudi Arabia.

In statements on Thursday 13/12/2012, Azhari said that the companies did not respond to entreaties by the Egyptian labor representation offices in both Tripoli and Riyadh to solve problems of their Egyptian workers, a matter that prompted the ministry to issue the ban decision.
