Angola: Police Seize Over 4.000 Weapons in Bengo

Caxito — At least 4.351 weapons were seized in the northern Bengo province by the Police, under the disarming process of the population illegally owning firearms, which started in April, 2008, Angop has learnt.

A press note from the corporation says that the Police also seized 22.362 ammunitions, 1.342 magazines, 202 explosive devices and 26 projectiles.

Meanwhile the police destroyed 1.450 weapons, 776 magazines, 3.000 ammunitions and 888 explosive devices.

Under the process, 105 citizens were detained, says the corporation.
