Luanda — A protocol of cooperation and exchange of information was signed Friday in Luanda between the Capitals Market Commission (CMC) and the Financial Information Unit, for the implementation of policies and measures to fight money laundering and terrorism funding.
The information is contained in a note that reached Angop on Saturday, stating that the accord is about a mechanism for transmission and execution of exchange of information and mutual assistance.
The note states that the protocol responds to requirements of the Presidential Decree 35/11, of February 15, that focuses on prevention and analysis of money laundering operations.
According to the source, the protocol was signed by the CMC CEO, Archer Mangueira and the director of the Financial Information Unit, Francisca Massango de Brito.
The signing was witnessed by the deputy governor of the Angola Reserve Bank, Ricardo Viegas D'Abreu and members of CMC board.
