Luanda — List C, led by António Henriques da Silva, running for the board of the of the Angolan Basketball Federation (FAB) has refuted the result of the elections held on December 08 for alleged irregularities in the process.

Speaking to ANGOP, Bi Figueiredo, one of the members of List C, said that the contestation document has already been submitted to the Youth and Sports Ministry and that it requests for a cancellation of the whole process, including the work of the electoral commission, due to irregularities.

According to the source, there were problems in relation to the voters from the provinces of Bié and Benguela. He said out of seven clubs from Bié Province only one was eligible to vote, explaining that the situation in Benguela is similar, since Casa do Pessoal do Porto do Lobito club, which participated in the process, was not eligible to vote.

Bi Figueiredo accused the Angolan Basketball Federation (FAB) of condoning with the irregularities in the electoral process.
