Angola: Ambassador to America Makes Positive Assessment of Year 2012

Washington — The Angolan ambassador to the United States of America, Alberto Ribeiro, pointed out as challenges of his diplomatic mission for 2013 the increase of visits to Angola by American businesspeople and vice-versa.

Speaking at the yearend ceremony, held in the premises of the Angolan diplomatic office in the USA, Alberto Ribeiro said this interchange can boost the prospecting of investment opportunities in both markets.

In regard to the year 2012, the diplomat deemed it positive in spite of the difficulties that were faced.

He said the year 2012 was marked by great accomplishments, not only at political level, but also in the economic, institutional and social domains of the country, which make all Angolan proud. "Several (Angolan) delegations participated in Washington and in Houston, Texas, in very important forums, at which was seized the opportunity to discuss mechanisms that must aim at a better use of the investment opportunities being offered by Angola, as well as the necessary diversification, besides crude-oil", he explained.

The diplomat thanked the commitment of the Embassy staff, encouraging all to give their best in 2013 for the benefit of the Angolan nation.
