Egypt: Irrigation Minister - LE 238 Million Allocated to Develop Sinai

Water Resources and Irrigation Minister Mohamed Bahaa El-Din said on Sunday16/12/2012 the ministry's plan for developing Sinai includes digging 30 underground wells with LE210 million cost by 2017, establishing 15 dams and 25 reservoirs with almost LE143, 5 mn.

The ministry has launched maintenance works to al-Rawafeah Dam with LE53 mn cost, the minister added.

As many as 138 underground water wells were dug at a cost LE106 million to cultivate 3,862 feddans and seven dams were built to cultivate 1,860 feddan in Sinai, the minister said.
