Egypt: HEC - Final Results of Referendum to Be Announced After 2nd Phase

The High Elections Commission (HEC) Under Counselor Samir Abul Maati announced that the final results of the referendum on the draft constitution will be announced at the end of the second phase which will be held on Saturday in 17 governorates. The official results announced in the 10 governorates in which the first round was held showed that 57% of eligible voters supported the draft constitution compared to 43% who rejected it.

The results showed that supporters' numbers were higher in the governorates of Alexandria, Sharqeya, Dakahlia, Assiut, Sohag, Aswan, north Sinai, and south Sinai, Meanwhile, results showed that the number of opponent was higher in Cairo and Gharbieh.
