Egypt: Foreign Minister Receives Sudanese Presidential Aide

Foreign Minister Mohamed Kamel Amr received Sunday visiting Assistant to the Sudanese president Gaafar al-Sadiq al-Mirghani. Talks took up the situation in the Arab region, with firm eye to conditions in Sudan.

In press statements after the talks, Mirghani said he discussed with Amr the problem in Darfur as well as the outbreak of yellow fever in the region and how to contain the crisis.

Discussions also dwelt on means to activate the Egyptian role in achieving stability in Darfur, he said. Mirghani added it is essential to boost integration between Egypt and Sudan.

Sudan is looking forward to promoting economic integration with Egypt, he said. On his part, Amr said Egypt-Sudan relations are crucial, adding Egypt is very interested in developing ties with Sudan on all fronts.
