Jan 19 — As Ugandans continue the long wait for Cranes to compete again at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) finals, their passion for the game will not be watered down with the 2013 tournament around the corner.
Despite Uganda's absence at Africa's biggest soccer show, fans will find solace in watching other teams including Ivory Coast, Ghana, Nigeria, hosts South Africa and current champions Zambia.
Uganda last appeared at the finals in 1978. The team went down to hosts Ghana 2-0 in the final.
Ugandan fans have been assured of live broadcasts of the games in South Africa.
Besides the live broadcasts, there will be magazine shows, pre and post-game studio analysis from leading football experts. All the action will be broadcast to DStv and GOtv subscribers.
"African football continues to develop producing some of the finest talent in the world. AFCON is a show case for this skill and strength and we are happy that we can offer our subscribers the opportunity to watch action from the tournament," MultiChoive Africa CEO Nico Meyer said in a statement.
