The construction of African Avenue, Bole road, is being undertaken at a fast pace in order to be completed for the 50th anniversary of the African Union in May 2013.
The construction of the road has demolished buildings, and other structures. These wreckages are treated as hidden treasures by some people. Some youths are struggling to make their daily bread by digging out beam steels from the fallen concrete structures and selling them for 30 to 40 Br a kilo.
