Angola: Governor Acknowledges Army's Deeds in Eastern Military Region

Luena — The governor of the eastern Moxico province, João Ernesto dos Santos "Liberdade", Monday in Luena said that the Army in the Eastern Military Region managed to conduct various activities in the economic and social fields.

João Ernesto "Liberdade", recognised this when delivering his speech at the regional ceremony marking the 21st founding anniversary of the national army, being celebrated this Monday 17 December.

The official stressed that these actions worth mentioning.

The official added that this branch of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA) has many responsibilities in the accomplishment of its tasks and missions, under the strategy of national defence.

The national Army is one of the branches of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA) and it was institutionalised on 17 December 1992, under the Bicesse Peace Agreement signed in Portugal on 31 May 1991 by the Angolan Government and then UNITA guerrillas.
