Algeria: Local Martial Artists Win African Title

Algeria won the first edition of the African Vovinam championships, which wrapped up Saturday (December 15th) in Algiers, APS reported. The Algerian martial artists garnered 25 medals, including 21 gold, to beat out the Senegalese team. Morocco won 16 medals, including one gold, to finish third.

Mauritania, Côte d'Ivoire and Burkina Faso also took part in the event.
