Angola: Governor Inaugurates Multi-Purpose Play Ground

Luanda — A multi-purpose playing facility called "Miguel Lutonda" intended for keeping the youth entertained was inaugurated in the district of Ingombota by the Luanda province governor, Bento Joaquim Bento.

Accompanied by his deputies, governor Bento Bento watched a basketball match between the friends of Baduna Victoriano and of Miguel Lutonda.

Speaking to journalists, Bento Bento said the partnership with the national team's players helps the province's Government and the administration of Ingombota district to preserve the public facility and contribute to the birth of youths with high athletic qualities.

"This is one more social good that will help keep the physical condition of people, so they can have a place to practice sport and avoid the involvement in socially negative acts," stated the governor.

According to the governor, the Government's programme includes the construction and rehabilitation of such facilities and thus secure appropriate spaces for youths from all neighbourhoods.

In his turn, the ex-player of the national team and 1º de Agosto, Miguel Lutonda, expressed satisfaction with the recognition by the head of State, José Eduardo dos Santos, of all he has been doing in favour of the Angolan basketball.
