Nigeria: Helicopter Crash - Daba for Burial in Kano Today

Kano — Late Commander Murtal Muhammad Daba's body is expected in the state around 1pm, his uncle Mustafa Ali Daba, told Daily Trust yesterday, adding that he is to be interned immediately after Islamic funeral rites session at the family's residence in Bakin Ruwa in Kano city.

Late Murtala, according to his uncle, was the eldest of his parents' 22 children. His father is Muhammad Ali Daba, who was a major in the Nigerian Army.

The deceased naval officer, who was born in 1976, attended Command Primary School Dantunku in Kaduna State, before proceeding to Nigeria Military School (NMS) in Zaria. He later joined the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), where he was commissioned into the Nigerian Navy.
