Gambia: West Zonal Coach Rues Team Exit

Serrekunda West Zonal coach Badou Ceesay is left disenchanted by his lads' lacklustre showing against a resilient BEM outfit leading to their early exit.

Barra Essau and Mayamba took up a 1-0 lead at break before adding another after 55minutes as Modou Badjie clattered home a long rage free-kick to consolidate BEM's lead.

SK West needed a desperate dose of luck to pull in an effort consolation that looked imminent. Remi Mendy pulled a goal back three minutes from time with a tap to convert a poor goalkeeping by the BEM's net-minder.

West Coach, whose side was tipped the favourite on pre-match analysis, rued his side waste of chances.

"It is an unhappy day for us. Chances were there but we could not get them. BEM were the better side in the game. Definitely it's not good really", said Badou Ceesay.
