Gambia: Venezuelan Embassy Ends Sixth Taste of Cinema Shows

The embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in The Gambia, over the weekend concluded series of the Sixth Taste of Venezuelan cinema shows that created the platform for Gambians and non-citizens alike to be exposed to South American movie.

During the course of the weeklong uninterrupted programme, people from diverse walks of life in The Gambia watched different Latin American movies in selected venues; such as the Alliance Francaise Banjul, and the University of The Gambia Digital Campus hall in Brikama.

Speaking in an interview with the Daily Observer, the Venezuela ambassador to The Gambia, Her Excellency Lourdes Pirez Martinez, expressed delight for initiating the cinema taste in the country, noting that the shows availed Gambians the opportunity to know more about her country. She commended all for their participation in the cinema shows, while reaffirming their commitment to strengthening the bilateral ties between the two countries.

Sharing his impression with this reporter at the Alliance Francaise, Manding Mory, renownedartiste, who himself had earlier this year attended a major international festival in Venezuela, thanked the ambassador for the initiative, the Venezuelan people for their kindness and described the movies as interesting.
