Gambia: President Jammeh's Youth Empowerment Initiatives Lauded

The minister of Youth and Sports on behalf of Gambian youths has written to the Gambian leader, His Excellency Sheikh Professor Alhaji Dr Yahya Jammeh, renewing absolute commitment to his cherished vision of developing this country in peace and tranquility.

Alieu K Jammeh recalled President Jammeh's recent largesse to the youths- sponsoring 14 to performthis year's hajj in Mecca; paying for the entire package of 50 supporters to Azerbaijan to cheer up the country's female U-17 football team in the FIFA U17 World Cup; the magnificent financial reward to the U-17 female football team players, officials and support staff; the donation of a brand new mini-coaster to the U-17 female football team; the donation of a brand new 4x4 pick up the National Youth Service Scheme; the financial sponsorship for the successful hosting of NAYCONF 2012; amongst others, which has re-energized them to remain firm and committed in the deliverance of his vision.

The letter reads;

Since the dawn of the July 22nd Revolution in 1994 and the advent of the second republic of the Gambia, under Your Excellency's stewardship, the young men and women of this great country continue to receive Your Excellency's undiluted support.

True to Your Excellency's strong conviction that the bedrock of any flourishing society depends on the character of its citizenry, particularly the Youth folk, you unrelentingly continue to motivate, inspire, guide and direct for the general improvement of the welfare of the social status of the youth in the society.

On behalf of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the entire youth fraternity and my humble self, I renew our absolute commitment to Your Excellency's cherished vision of developing this country in peace and tranquility.

Your Excellency's recent largesse on the youths in sponsoring fourteen to the this year's hajj to Mecca; paying for the entire package of fifty supporters to Azerbaijan to cheer up the country's female U-17 football team in the FIFA U-17 World Cup; the magnificent financial reward to the U-17 female football team players, officials and support staff; the donation of a brand new mini-coaster to the U-17 Female football team; the donation of a brand new 4x4 pick up the National Youth Service Scheme; the financial sponsorship for the successful hosting of NAYCONF 2012; amongst others, has re-energnised us to remain firm and committed in the deliverance of Your Excellency's vision.

We shall particularly work harder to sustain and improve on the momentum generated in the youth circles in positively responding to your call to meaningfully contribute to national development.

As we continue to pray for Your Excellency's wellbeing, I once again, take this opportunity to thank you for this opportunity to contribute my quota to national development.
