Angola: Govt to Launch New Menongue Dam in January

Luanda — The new dam of Menongue City, south-eastern Kuando Kubango Province will be inaugurated in January of 2013, announced Tuesday the minister of Energy and Waters, João Baptista Borges.

In an interview to ANGOP, at 4 de Fevereiro International Airport, moments before travelling to that city, the government official explained that the referred project, which is in its final stage, will supply electricity to about eight thousand residents in Menongue.

The infrastructure to be inaugurate will decrease the current supply deficit of this product in Menongue.

During his two-day stay in the region, the minister will assess the degree of development of other projects related to the energy sector.
