Luanda — The newly elected chairman of the Angola Tennis Federation (FAT), Matias Castro da Silva, Monday in Luanda, appealed for unity and cohesion among the lovers and players with a view to the recovery and development of the sport in the country.
Speaking at the swearing-in on November 30, Matias da Silva said only with the combination of everyone's effort will the goals of the board be attained in the 2012/2016 term.
He mentioned as the main goal for its four-year term restoring of normalcy and working to expand and further develop the sport, saying the best for attaining that is unity.
"WE are all aware of the current state of the tennis and we need the cooperation and help of everyone to reverse the situation of the sport. Although we have ambitious programmes, their implementation will only be successful with the participation and contribution of the players, coaches and other lovers of this sound sport," he stated.
