Angola: Huila Province to Host National Boxing Tournament

Luanda — The new board of the Angolan Boxing Federation (Faboxe) will begin their work with the holding of a national tournament in the southern Huila Province.

Speaking to ANGOP on Monday, in Luanda, the spokeswoman of Faboxe, Antonieta Ferreira, said that it is more viable to start with a tournament and not the championship as expected, because the outgoing board members have not yet handed over the various portfolios of the institution.

She explained that due to the lack of documents that are still in possession of the outgoing board the meeting that was to take place on Monday was postponed and changed to Friday.

Antonieta Ferreira revealed that the tournament is scheduled to happen from 20 to 25 January, 2013, and from that competition will be selected the national athletes that will represent Angola in the African championship of next year, in March.
