Angola: Governor Appeals for Contributions to Enrich Country's History

Malanje — The governor of Malanje Province, Norberto dos Santos, on Monday here appealed to historians, intellectuals and elderly people to contribute with their knowledge and opinions to the retrieval and enrichment of the history of Angola.

The governor said so when delivering a speech at the opening of the First Meeting on the Ndongo Kingdom, promoted by the association of those native to and friends of Marimba Municipality.

Norberto dos Santos highlighted the need to increase historical and statistical data on Angola's history, adding that all social actors should participate with valid ideas on this country's history.

He said the themes are being discussed with sincerity and openness, touching on important issues like the Angolan cultural identity, so he hopes everyone can contribute to the topics, aiming at the growth of the country's cultural fabric.

"To elderly people, I say I hope you give your contribution as witnesses of our forefathers, who have a legacy that make of Angola a respected, independent and sovereign country", he emphasized.
