Orchestrated terror assaults on Benghazi stations left four officers dead and several more wounded on Sunday (December 16th).

Assailants using small arms and rocket-propelled-grenades attacked two police stations, in an attempt to free a suspect arrested Saturday for his alleged role in the assassinations of police and military officers, interior ministry spokesman Ezzedine al-Fazani said.

In a separate incident on Sunday, gunmen also killed two army officers in Bani Walid.

Two explosions rocked the Garyounes and Al-Oruba police stations in Benghazi early on Monday, a security official told AFP. No casualties were reported and suspects had been apprehended, the source said.
