Rwanda: President Lays Foundation Stone For Party Headquarters

President Paul Kagame today laid a foundation stone for the construction of the Rwanda Patriotic Front (RPF) headquarters in Nyagahinga Cell, Rusororo Sector in Gasabo District.

The two storied building, whose construction is expected to take two years, is estimated to cost $10 million (approximately Rwf5.6 billion).

Addressing RPF supporters and residents of Rusororo who turned up to witness the event, President Kagame said once completed, the building will not only be used by RPF supporters but all Rwandans.

"All Rwandans are welcome to use this facility but they will pay some fee because it's going to be fully equipped with ICT and many other useful things," he said.

The building will include among others, political school, 1500 conference hall sitter, accommodation facilities and a restaurant.

The event is part of activities in the run-up to the ruling party's Silver Jubilee celebrations due this Thursday in Kigali.

Currently, the party has its head offices in Kimihurura Sector, Gasabo District.
