Recently, a group of fashion designers congregated at Club Volar at Ngong Racecourse in Nairobi for a preview of what is billed to be the next big thing in local fashion industry.

Themed "Nairobi Wonderland", the show was the reality of a unique concept by Luxury Lifestyle Curators and Galina Tatarinova of "Only You" Fashion House, that encorporates fashion, music, dance and theatre to create a magical runway experience.

According to the organiser Gladys Macharia, the event is to be an annual affair and targets those seeking an alternative to the repetitive catwalk and runway shows.

"The first edition is set for mid next year and will be headlined by designers such as Tatarinova, Ziki (Afro Fanatic) and Marion among others," Macharia said.

The event was preceded by a month-long exhibition by renowned fashion photographers such as Osborne Macharia, Nick Klaus and Thandiwe Muriu, who had their work showcased at the Karen Country Club.
