A Sacco aimed at uplight the livelihoods of the youth in Kirinyaga has been opened at Kagumo town. The Fanaka Sacco was officially opened by the chairman Nahashon Ngari. The Sacco will help the youth save their money and get loans which attract a 5 per cent interest.

He said that the main aim of the Sacco is to encourage the youth to enter into businesses and stop drinking illicit brews. drinks. " I want the youths to get out of drinking and do something meaningful with their lives," Ngari said.

He said the area produce plenty of tea and coffee but the earnings are misused. Ngari said the Sacco will help the youth to be self-reliant.
