Sierra Leone: 'I'm Indebted to You'--President Koroma Assures the Women of Sierra Leone

President Dr Ernest Bai Koroma has paid glowing tribute to the women of Sierra Leone for the untiring efforts they exacted in his re-election success at the November polls. He said that the resilience demonstrated by the women and also the youth in his campaign trail leading to his resounding success is worthy of commendation.

President Koroma also said that the APC believes in hard work and the party is the party of the common man and woman in the street; a reason why the party is always successful.

"As a government we are happy that we are back, and I'm particularly grateful that as President, you have given me a second mandate to continue the development and transformation of the country", he said, while noting that, "we will continue to serve the people of this country".

The Chief Executive went on to note that he will spend more time this time round on government business as much as on party affairs, and promised to spend more time in organising the party immediately after the holidays. "One thing I hope to do is to organise the women in order to promote unity and active collaboration among them," he promised, adding that he will put in place structures that would ensure every woman benefit from the goodies the party has to offer.

"I want to retire as President leaving behind me a party that functions effectively more than when I was around, and this time round, I am not going to leave the affairs of the party to anyone to handle as I will spend more of my time with you, he said, amidst rapturous applause.

President Koroma called on the women to work together and avoid relapsing into factions. "There will be no camp other than the "Ernest Koroma Camp", he also maintained amidst sustained applause. He urged the women to consolidate the gains made so far, and committed to unflinchingly support all the programmes of the Women's Wing for the way forward.

The National President of the Women's Wing, Madam Elizabeth Mans delivering the congratulatory message noted that President Koroma is a leader of foresight and gratitude considering the fact that their invitation to meet with him was accepted at short notice.

Madam Elizabeth Mans pledged on behalf of the APC Women's Wing to continue to unflinchingly support and promote the leadership of President Koroma, saying "in the next five years, we know you will continue to make us proud as you did in the last five years." She prayed profusely for long life and good health for the President to continue the good work he had done for the country in the last five years.

Delivering the vote of thanks, Madam Margaret Conteh profusely thanked the President for his vision and commitment to taking Sierra Leone to the next level. She also thanked all women of Sierra Leone for their support for the president's agenda since 2007 and even now going forward.
