Angola: Plastic Artists Board in March 2013

Luanda — The members of the National Association of Plastic Artists (UNAP) have set for 16 March 2013 their Ordinary General Assembly to renew the mandates of the board for the 2013/ 2013/2017 period.

The information was released to Angop on Tuesday by the Electoral Commission chairman, Horácio da Mesquita.

The source added that the decision followed a meeting of the Extraordinary General Assembly held on December 14 this year as the outgoing board ended its term in 2010.

Horacio da Mequita said the Electoral Commission has thus been set up to create the conditions for the ordinary assembly that will also present the outgoing board's accounts report.

With this, the official said, the Electoral Commission will be in a position on 11 February 2013 to receive all contesting lists for the campaign going until March 14.

The outgoing UNAP board was led by plastic artist Antonio Bastos Galiano as its secretary general, while Manuel Antonio de Oliveira "Dudu" was the Assembly's chairman.

UNAP gathers about 200 registered members.
