French carmaker Renault on Tuesday (December 18th) confirmed plans to build a new plant in Algeria, Le Monde reported. The contract is expected to be signed on Wednesday, the first day of French President Francois Hollande's visit to Algeria.
The Renault factory near Oran should open by 2014. The plant will have an initial capacity of 25,000 vehicles per year.
Annual production is expected to reach 75,000 cars.
