Gambia: BSAC CEO Sent On Indefinite Leave

Basse — The chief executive officer (CEO) of the Basse Area Council (BSAC), Yusupha Manneh, has been forced to proceed on indefinite leave by the councilors of the Council.

The decision was unanimously agreed by 15 councilors during an emergency meeting Monday following the CEO's refusal to implement the Council's directives under the Local Government Act. The councilors also believe that the CEO did not only disobey the Local Government Act, but is not ready for the development of the region, and needs to change his attitude.
