In continuation of the 'Operation Save Haven,' police Tuesday arrested about 100 suspected recycled criminals from different ghettos in Monrovia.

Among them were 14 females and 89 males.

Police Media Coordinator Sam Collins said the suspects were arrested during the early morning hour of Tuesday from different ghettos in central Monrovia and Bushrod Island respectively. Most of the suspects were previously arrested on minor offences, including pick pocketing and aggravated assault.

He said out of the latest batch of 100 suspects, 50 were released after a thorough screening while 50 others are currently in police custody undergoing investigation.

"Liberia National Police will not relent to arrest anyone that will create havoc for the public during and after the festive seasons," Sam Collins pointed out.

He urged the public to report any strange movement of suspected criminals and their hideouts in the communities.

In another development, the management of the TOTAL gas company Tuesday presented 1,500 gallons of fuel to the Liberia National Police.

TOTAL Managing Director Robert Fench, said the donation was part of his company's corporate social responsibility to the people of Liberia.

The TOTAL Managing Director said his company was aware of the tremendous sacrifices that LNP officers were making in the protection of lives and properties and as such they were delighted to identify with the police to enhance their functions adequately.

He expressed his company's commitment to working with the police for the general good of the society.

Responding, Deputy Police Inspector General Rose Stryker lauded the management of TOTAL Gas company for the gesture, stressing that it will help the police in fighting crimes in the society.

Deputy Police Inspector Striker said they were impressed by the gesture from TOTAL-Liberia, adding that LNP will remain vigilant in the execution of its duty.
