Sudan: Gunmen Injure Kassab Camp Resident

Kutum — A displaced man from Kassab camp in the locality of Kutum, North Darfur, was injured in both legs when gunmen opened fire on him.

Kassab camp's sheikh, Taher Ismail, told Radio Dabanga that gunmen on motorbikes, whom he accused of being loyal to the government, attempted to loot sheep from displaced Mahjoub Fadel Abdullah. According to the sheikh, Mahjoub was attacked when he was grazing his sheep near the camp. When the victim tried to resist, the gunmen allegedly opened fire on him.

Mahjoub's legs were fractured by the attack and he was taken to El Fasher for treatment. Taher Ismail stated that the incident was reported to both the military police and UNAMID.
