Sudan: New Food Cards Distribution in Kass

Kass — A coordinator at displaced camps in Kass, South Darfur has called on all camp residents to act immediately in order to collect their new food cards. The cards are being distribruted from Wednesday, 19 December, until 31 December.

He explained to Radio Dabanga that if people act now, errors or issues can be addressed and followed up on with the high commission before the end of the legal period agreed upon with the World Food Programme.

The coordinator added that the registered number of displaced persons at the camp according to their lists is about 771,694.

Also, the coordinator asked the camps' sheikhs to check the lists of names and discuss possible errors with the high commission. Lastly he asked them to address the issues with the process of re-taking fingerprints of the 12,000 to 16,000 displaced persons, along with an estimated 9,000 other names without registration.
