Menongue — The Minister of Energy and Water, João Baptista Borges, is paying since Tuesday a working visit to the south-eastern Kuando Kubango province, where he will check the level of functioning of the sector, having into account the problems of power and water supply in the region.
On Tuesday, João Baptista Borges met with the provincial governor of Kuando Kubango.
Higino Carneiro, having been briefed on the need of empowering the power and water supply sector.
The minister was also briefed on the Okavango-Zambeze basin project that will soon start to be implemented at the regional level.
The minister delegation is integrated by the Secretary of State for Energy, Joaquim Ventura, national director of energy, António Belza da Silva and national director for water, Lucrécio Costa, among other staff of the ministry.
