Lubango — The provincial department of culture in Huíla Province opened Wednesday the registration process for the groups that want to participate in Carnival 2013 in Lubango, ANGOP learnt from the director of the sector, Maria Marcelina Gomes.
Maria Marcelina Gomes, also executive secretary of Huíla Province's Carnival Commission, stressed that the carnival groups in children category should at least have 50 members, while the adult ones need to have one hundred members, according to the current regulation approved by the National Carnival Association (NCA).
According to the director, all carnival groups will also hand over to the organising committee the lyrics of the song they will parade with and a list with the names of the leading couple (known as the king and queen of each group).
The 2012 edition of the Carnival in children category was won by the group "Muila" and in adults the award was given to Epata Lituima da Humpata.
