Egypt: PM Calls for Resorting to Reason, Ending Work Stoppages

Prime Minister Hisham Qandil called on Wednesday 19/12/2012 on all powers in the country to act rationally and resort to the language of reason, urging an end of work stoppages to keep the production wheel going on.

"We need to deliver the nation safely from the current difficult stage and concentrate on rebuilding the State institutions and re-energizing the national economy to attain the goals of the January 25th Revolution," he told Cabinet reporters representing the various national, party and private newspapers.

He reviewed with the press the current domestic conditions and the political and economic situation in particular.

The meeting began with all those present observing a moment of silence in memory of journalist El-Huseini Abu-Deif who was killed in violent incidents near the Presidential Palace last week.
