In 2008, Kabiru Mohammed, a trader based in Ilorin, the capital of Kwara State wanted to know what disease was attacking his 5-year-old son whose stomach suddenly became unusually big. He took the child to a hospital in the city, but the detection of the ailment was difficult. There was no equipment to scan his son's stomach.
