Angola: Energy and Water Minister Returns to Luanda

Luanda — The Minister of Energy and Water, João Baptista Borges, returned on Wednesday to Luanda, after paying a working visit to the south-eastern Kuando Kubango province, where he checked the level of functioning of the sector.

During his visit in Kuando Kubango, the minister was accompanied by the Secretary of State for Energy, Joaquim Ventura, national director of energy, António Belza da Silva and national director for water, Lucrécio Costa, among other staff of the ministry.

On Tuesday, João Baptista Borges met with the provincial governor of Kuando Kubango, Higino Carneiro, having been briefed on the need of empowering the power and water supply sector.

The minister was also briefed on the Okavango-Zambeze basin project that will soon start to be implemented at the regional level.
