Angola: Hippopotamus Destroy Several Cultures in Mungo Municipality

Mungo — At least 10 hectares of maize, beans and manioc belonging to peasants of Mungo municipality, central Huambo province, were destroyed by hippopotamus, a situation that worries the local authorities, Angop has learnt.

One of the peasants, Moisés Sondembe, said that the animals destroyed plantations located in the banks of Luvulo and Zandamjimba rivers.

On his turn, the peasant Gabriel Cassinda said that this will put at risk the food security programme as the families survive by the agricultural production.
