Western Sahara: General Assembly Reaffirms the Right of the Saharawi People to Self-Determination

New York — The General Assembly of the United Nations on Tuesday adopted a resolution unanimously supporting the negotiation process in order to achieve a just, lasting and mutually acceptable solution that lead to self-determination of the people of Western Sahara.

It also commends the efforts made in this regard by the Secretary-General and his Personal Envoy, inviting the parties to cooperate with the International Committee of the Red Cross and to fulfill their obligations under international humanitarian law.
