French President François Hollande begins a two-day state visit to Algeria on Wednesday (December 19th), APS reported.
Hollande is accompanied by some 200 people, including nine ministers and dozens of senior business executives, AFP reported.
Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika and Hollande are expected to discuss new accords in the defence, industry and agricultural sectors. During the visit, French carmaker Renault will also reportedly sign a contract to build a new factory in Oran.
"We expect the opening of new chapter in the relations between Algeria and France, based on friendship and co-operation," Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal told France3 on Monday.
