Tunisia: NCA Passes Vote of Confidence in New Finance Minister

Tunis — The National Constituent Assembly (NCA) passed on Thursday a vote of confidence in new Finance Minister Elyes Fakhfakh who will carry on temprarily his mission as Tourism Minister.

Interim Prime Minister Hamadi Jebali had indeed decided Wednesday to oppoint Mr. Fakhfakh, of Ettakatol Party, as Finance Minister while keeping , for the time being, his duties as Tourism Minister .

This is the first cabinet reshuffle since the first government line-up, on December 22,2011.

Secretary of State in charge of Finance Slim Besbès had been the Interim Finance Minister since the resignation of Houcine Dimassi (independent) last July 27 .
