Egypt: Belshi Not to Oversee 2nd Round of Referendum

Assistant Justice Minister for Judicial Inspection Zaghloul el-Belshi said he will not oversee Saturday's second round of the constitutional referendum for health reasons.

El-Belshi, who is the Secretary General of the High Elections Commission (HEC), has undergone eye surgery on Tuesday 18/12/2012 and the doctors ordered him to go on bed rest.

The first round of Egypt's referendum took place on 15 December across 10 governorates. The second round of voting includes the remaining 17 governorates.
