AFC Leopards have taken a first step towards putting a new technical bench in place with the appointments of former Harambee Stars coach Tom Olaba as the new assistant coach.
Club chairman Alex Ole Magelo appointed Olaba and former Leopards and Kenya first choice goalkeeper John Busolo as the goalkeeper trainer with former captain and assistant coach Nicholas Muyoti as team manager.
"Olaba brings on board over 30 years of experience in coaching both locally and abroad both at club and national level. "In his career as a coach he has won the Zanzibar Premier League twice among other achievements,"said Magelo on the decision to appoint Olaba.
Magelo said the appointees will be formally presented and introduced to the playing unit today. "They have already submitted their work plans for the upcoming season and are raring to get on with their work.We have no doubt that after we have the right calibre of persons working together as a team we will steer our team to greater heights as is expected,"Magelo said in a statement.
The club is in advanced stages of naming the person who will take the head coach's role with former coach Jan Koops being considered for a shock return and Uganda's Sammy Ssibwa also in the frame.
