The High Court has temporarily halted the digital migration scheduled for December 31. Justice Isaac Lenaola has issued temporary orders stopping the move until January 11 2013 when a ruling will be made on the matter.
The case was filed on December 10 by the lobby group Consumer Federation of Kenya (Cofek) The consumer protection group argued that the move is unreasonable and expensive and most Kenyans do not have the cash to purchase the set-boxes to enable them switch from analogue to digital frequency.
