Chelelemuk and Kiriko won their respective matches as the Amos Wako women's football tournament got underway over the weekend in Teso.
Chelelemuk got off to a flying start when they trounced Kolanya 2-0 in a thrilling match played at Katakwa Secondary school play ground. Lucy Mukhwana put the victors in the lead after 20 minutes with a close range while Christine Isapuke added the second goal moments later.
At Malaba Primary school grounds, Kiriko beat Kamuriai 3-1 to confirm their status in the tournament. Pamela Aujat, Maximila Achobo and Centrin Atyang scored for the winners while Kamuriai's consolation goal was scored by Alice Okoro in the dying minutes of the game.
Matches involving teams from Teso South will kick off today with four matches earmarked for Amukura and Chakol. In Amukura, Young Stars will meet Akoret before taking on Papa FC. In Chakol, Asiriam will take on Ng'elechom before clashing with Olepito. The winners in the Angurai and Amagoro zones will meet to decide Teso North champions.
