Uganda: RDC Warns On Absenteeism

Rakai Resident District Commissioner David Kaboyo has warned civil servants in the district against skipping work.

Meeting sub-county chairpersons at Lwanda recently, Kaboyo cautioned them against being perpetually absent from work and only present to pick pay cheques. There was silence when Kaboyo said that President Museveni had expressed concern at reports of corruption and poor implementation of government projects in the district.

Rakai district chairperson Robert Benon Mugabi weighed in, advising the sub-county bosses to keenly monitor implementation of government programmes. Chief Administration Officer Jamil Kabiito said his office was in the process of deleting all ghost workers from the payroll and sought the chairpersons' support.
