Nigeria: Abdullahi - NPL Crisis Has Killed IMG Interest

Sports Minister and the Chairman National Sports Commission, (NSC) Bolaji Abdullahi, has pronounced that the protracted crisis in the Nigeria Premier League (NPL) is dissuading the International Management Group (IMG) from taking over the sponsorship of the NPL.

The Nigerian league body has found itself in a mix of a complex cobweb since Victor Rumson Baribote was sacked last week and the stakeholders and the leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) failing to agree on the composition of the NPL board.

IMG, which is already in Nigeria by virtue of its management of the Ibom Golf Resort, Uyo, is said to be keen to broaden its portfolio in form of the sponsorship of the NPL.
