Angola Is On Good Path - Says Health Minister

Luanda — The Plan of sanitary Development for 2012/2015 period aims to reduce the inequalities and asymmetries relating to the Access and quality of health services.

This was said to Angop on Thursday by the Health Minister, José Van-Dúnem, during the year-end greeting ceremony.

The minister said that the development plan includes ambitious objectives in all domains of the National Health System, such as the reinforcement to the fighting against priority diseases that comprise the communicable and non-communicable disease, cares to women's health and new-born, attention to children and elderly people survival, as well as the improvement of proximity services.

So, the official said that people, public and private institutions will be mobilized so as to promote new habits and lifestyles, as well as change of social and economic factors of the Angolans' health.

The minister defended that to materialize this plan, it is needed to increase coordination and promote synergies of actions in the sector, clarifying and accounting more the various levels of decision.

"In this sense, we will hold a consultative council in March in 2013 and semester coordination meetings will all provincial health departments", said the minister.
